This blog is where I will capture my thoughts on the state of the environment and what people around the world are doing to protect or destroy it. It will have a special focus on how these stories are being communicated.
Why me?
I have lived in a rainforest and watched giant turtles being hunted from the sea. I have been in the room when heavyweights like Gordon Brown or Al Gore have made bold statements about our planet and I’ve seen penniless people risking their children’s lives by asking them to handle toxic chemicals that are banned worldwide. I have been a scientist and a journalist but my biggest qualification for having an opinion here is that I simply care about what gets left behind for my nephew and my niece and – who knows? – maybe some children of my own one day.
